Kayaking the Abel Tasman: A Photo Essay

The Abel Tasman National Park is on the north west of New Zealand’s South Island. You cannot drive here, but there are loads of walking trails and DOC camp sites throughout the park. There are also options to kayak the park and even some DOC camp sites that cater only to kayakers. We took a water taxi up the National Park, and then spent two days kayaking back, taking time to explore the beaches and lagoons that appear during high tide.

The views were amazing and we saw some amazing birds and seals along the way – one seal even decided to come for a swim with us!
